Scar

I hold on to you
just like a cutter
holding on to its blade
like somehow
you can magically make pain
go all away.

But every time,
after the storm passed
and the mood subsided
like a cut,
you make a scar in my heart
so deeply, I’m afraid
I will never be whole again.

Kudos!! if you can weather thru the urge to self-harm; the emotional scars are often the underlying reason it all started. I hope you are getting support, are you? Sometimes a therapist is not always possible but a supportive group who “get it” can do a world of good too. Blessings and sending you courage on your difficult journey.

Thank you so much Cheryl Lynn! 🙂 most people don’t understand why others do self-harm unless you’ve been on the point that you wanted also to do it yourself. I guess it’s more of a coping mechanism to remove the pain…to feel other pain. I’m just fortunate i know how to distract myself from those actions, if not thoughts. 🙂

I’m glad to hear that! Never hesitate to reach out. SI is misunderstood by many professionals as well, I realize that. I know it’s a coping strategy but it’s time to fine another one a little healthier…and yes, I realize it is not easy to stop. Look at all the time you have reduced not on when you have given in…it’s a bit like an addiction…but so misunderstood. Blessings, Pink Woods!!
